Workforce Classification Views

Workforce Classification in Pearson Workforce Solutions provides two distinct ways to explore your data. Each view offers a tailored perspective to support different stages of workforce transformation.

Switching Between Views

At the top of the Workforce Classification interface, you'll find two tabs:

  • Occupation View – to explore how job titles are grouped into standardized occupations.

  • Employee View – to see how each individual employee has been mapped to an occupation in the ontology.

You can switch between these views at any time to analyze your data at the macro or micro level, depending on your task.

Occupation View

Occupation Mapping _ Bulk view V1 _ Default - Occupation tab

This view focuses on group-level insights — perfect for planning, auditing, and organizing workforce structure.

You’ll be able to:

  • See how job titles have been automatically classified into occupations from the Faethm Ontology.

  • View a breakdown of headcount per occupation.

  • Identify discrepancies or duplicate job titles.

  • Use filters or manual reclassification to tailor occupation mappings.

Key data points displayed:

  • Job Title

  • Ontology Occupation

  • Headcount

  • Confidence level

  • Organizational layers

  • Classification metadata (last modified, classification type, etc.)

You can also download your view as a CSV or make inline edits for any classification changes.

Employee View

Occupation Mapping _ Employee view _ Default - Employee tab

This view zooms in on each individual employee and their classification details.

You’ll be able to:

  • Search for a specific employee by name or filters.

  • Review employee metadata alongside their mapped occupation.

  • See organization structure, manager, and other attributes.

  • Modify occupation mapping for specific employees if needed.

Key data points displayed:

  • Employee name, ID, email, and location

  • Job Title and mapped Occupation

  • Organizational layers

  • Manager name and ID

  • Mapping confidence and type

  • Custom override flags if a classification has been edited

This view is especially useful when validating data accuracy or investigating anomalies at an individual level.

Which View Should I Use?

Use Occupation View when:

  • You’re auditing role consistency across job titles.

  • You’re preparing transformation plans by occupation groupings.

  • You need to bulk reclassify or understand organizational trends.

Use Employee View when:

  • You’re investigating individual-level mismatches or gaps.

  • You’re validating custom classifications.

  • You need to filter data down to a specific team, manager, or region.

Any changes made in either view — whether reclassifying an entire job title group or adjusting a single employee's mapping — are reflected across both views. This ensures that your data remains consistent, traceable, and ready to support any workforce planning initiative.
