Introduction to reports

The reports on the Faethm platform are designed to surface predictive insights on a particular component or driver of emerging technology impact through the use of interactive charts that display and filter wide-ranging views on your workforce data.

There are thirteen reports available with every Faethm license that, when used in conjunction with each other, provide comprehensive, actionable insights.

Common features and tools

Faethm-Platform (74)

Every report includes:

  • The platform-wide filters, available to filter data in every chart
  • a download option, to export the report data in a spreadsheet (as a CSV or XLS file), or as an image (PNG file)
  • The FAQs button, which slides open the FAQs bar over the page

Job Corridor

The Job Corridor reveals viable career pathways from highly automatable jobs today to jobs of the future. It also surfaces jobs, both internal and external to your organisation, with the best job fit for the future roles you’ve planned to create.

Use the Job Corridor to plan effective worker redeployment, inform your learning and development initiatives and develop internal career mobility opportunities.

There are two ways in which the Job Corridor can be used:

  • Assess career pathways
Identify opportunities to transition your people into future-proof jobs.
  • Fill future jobs
Find the jobs today with the best fit for your planned future jobs.

Job Profiles

The Job Profiles incorporates all jobs in your organisation, as well as the entirety of Faethm's extensive Occupation Ontology - more than 5,000 unique occupations. The report shows the total number of FTEs in each job, and of those jobs, the total FTEs likely to be automated.

Just as for Job Impact and Jobs Added, any job can be selected to view a full list of tasks performed in that job, and with each task, the technology type that's likely to either augment or automate it. The technology types are those 16 key AI technologies in Faethm's Technology Taxonomy. This granular view of a job also includes the top five job pathways, by closest job fit, for that job.

Age Impact

The Age Impact represents the total impact of emerging technologies on an organisation’s workforce, by total FTE impacted, and how this differs by age group. Six age groups allow for comparison. The insights in this report highlight any potential differences in technology impacts across age groups in the same workforce.

Augmentation Impact

The Augmentation Impact reveals the aggregated FTEs in your workforce that are augmentable within each organisational unit. These insights can be used to understand the capacity gain, by FTE, augmenting technologies can deliver by reducing the time taken to complete tasks.

The insights are displayed in a bar chart that can be interacted with in order to evaluate impacts within an organisational unit hierarchy for a more granular view of the different FTE segments across your organisation.

Automation Impact

The Automation Impact surfaces the areas of your workforce, by organisational unit, that will benefit the most from automating technologies. This can be viewed by salary cost savings or by number of FTEs. The platform-wide filters can be used to scenario model the emerging technologies that could be deployed for each organisational unit, and when, over the next 15 years.

The insights are displayed in a bar chart that can be interacted with in order to evaluate impacts within an organisational unit hierarchy for a more granular view of the different FTE segments across your organisation.

Gender Impact

The Gender Impact shows the total impact of emerging technologies on the workforce by gender. The chart allows for comparison of both automation and augmentation impacts on genders. This is useful for understanding whether emerging technologies might impact genders to different extents. For example, jobs that are filled primarily by one gender and which are also highly likely to be either automated or augmented can indicate potential future gender imbalance, thus impacting your organisation's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts.

At this time, the report allows for just two genders, male and female. Until this is broadened to incorporate more diversity (our product team is working on it!), we recommend using a custom filter to provide you with a broader range of gender options, should that be required for your organisation.

Job Impact

The Job Impact uses a bar chart to list every job in your organisation. The chart surfaces the:

  • extent to which each job is likely to be automated, augmented or unimpacted
  • percentage impact on task time, of all tasks performed in the job
  • overall number of FTEs in that job that would be impacted

Just as for Job Profiles and Jobs Added, any job can be selected to view a full list of tasks performed in that job, and with each task, the technology type that's likely to either augment or automate it. The technology types are the 16 key AI technologies in Faethm's technology taxonomy. This granular view of a job also includes the top five job pathways, by closest job fit, for that job.

Job Resilience

The Job Resilience report can be used to inform your ongoing workforce resilience and continuity during times of disruption and uncertainty in three ways:

1) surfacing the jobs that can be performed remotely while remaining just as effective

2) surfacing the jobs with a high level of human interaction, to implement improvements to employee safety and productivity

3) surfacing the degree of human interaction, paired with remote work potential, across jobs to inform workforce agility and resilience planning

Jobs Added

The Jobs Added report reveals the jobs, by total FTE for each job, that may need to be added to your workforce in order to implement and use emerging technologies. These emerging technologies are the 16 key AI technologies in Faethm's technology taxonomy. Each of these jobs already exist in the workforce. Faethm doesn't predict any types of jobs that don't currently exist; instead, Faethm's view is that current jobs are transformed by requiring new skills to perform new tasks.

Just as for Job Profiles and Job Impact, any job can be selected to view a full list of tasks performed in that job, and with each task, the technology type that's likely to either augment or automate it. The technology types are the 16 key AI technologies in Faethm's technology taxonomy. This granular view of a job also includes the top five job pathways, by closest job fit, for that job.

Location Breakdown

The Location Breakdown shows the extent to which an organisation's workforce, by total FTEs, numbers, is likely to be either automated or augmented. This data is categorised by locations relevant to your organisation, as supplied in your workforce datasets. The chart can be interacted with to filter locations for a more granular view of impacts.

Key insights revealed in the Location Breakdown include total salary costs that could be reduced as tasks are automated, and the number of FTEs in the selected location that could be augmented. A table below the chart enables locations to be selected for comparison.

Location Map

The Location Map displays all locations relevant to your organisation, as supplied in your workforce datasets, on a map. The map can be interacted with to compare the differences in technology impact and opportunity by workforce location. These insights can be used to identify where your organisation might find redeployment opportunities, potential to merge locations, and available space across all locations that can be used. All data displayed in the map is also presented in a table, allowing you to sort the data and to select specific locations for comparison.

Technology Portfolio

The Technology Portfolio provides an overview of the types of augmenting and automating technologies that are likely to deliver cost savings when adopted in your organisation. The insights revealed in the Technology Portfolio include

Key insights revealed in the Technology Portfolio include the total percentage gain in FTE time that could be delivered by augmenting technology, the total salary costs that could be reduced as tasks are automated and the number of FTEs that will need to be added to your workforce to cater for implementing and running emerging technologies. A table below the chart enables you to compare different technology types.

Technology Timeline

The Technology Timeline provides an overview of the 16 core groups of emerging technologies in Faethm’s Technology Taxonomy, and surfaces the impacts - by automation or augmentation of tasks - each will have up to 15 years into the future.

Key insights revealed in the Technology Portfolio include the number of FTEs that are likely to see their roles automated, the total salary costs that could be reduced as tasks are automated, and the total percentage gain in FTE time that could be delivered by augmenting technology. A table below the chart enables you to compare different technology types.
