Workforce Classification Error: Occupation Re-Mapping Unsuccessful

Message Heading
Occupation re-mapping unsuccessful.
Message Description
Try saving again or try refreshing the page then making your selection again and saving. If the issue persists, please contact our support team at wfs.support@pearson.com.
Explanation
This error appears during the re-mapping confirmation process in Workforce Classification when you’re trying to finalize your occupation selection using the “Review and confirm re-mapping selection” panel. You’ll see this after selecting one or more occupations and pressing Save re-classification.
The message indicates that the platform was not able to successfully process your reclassification request. This could be due to a momentary issue with the connection, an expired session, or internal processing delays.
This page is typically encountered after selecting one or more occupation rows for reclassification (either individually or in bulk), and you’ve chosen a new occupation from our ontology to map them to. The right-hand side displays your selected occupation, and the bottom panel gives you options to Cancel or Save re-classification.
Why it Happens
The most common causes are:
-
Temporary network connection disruptions
-
Session timeouts after periods of inactivity
-
Backend services being temporarily unresponsive or busy
-
Errors in mapping validation or occupation codes that no longer exist
Solution
If you encounter this error:
-
Try saving again — in many cases this will resolve the issue.
-
If that doesn't work, refresh the page to re-initialize the session and interface.
-
Re-do your occupation selection and attempt to save again.
-
If the issue continues to occur, please reach out to our support team at wfs.support@pearson.com with a screenshot or details about the occupation(s) being mapped.
💡 Tip: Save your selections frequently during large reclassification sessions to avoid session timeouts or losing progress.
