How is job recession calculated?
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics Current Population Survey (CPS) was used to derive data on jobs that experienced decline between 2008-2010.
The extent of change for each occupation type was then grouped into: high-risk jobs (those that had negative job growth over two years), medium-risk (those that had a year of job-losses during the period) and low-risk (positive job-growth).
