How are the automation and augmentation predictions made?

Faethm uses a machine learning algorithm that predicts the likelihood that a technology will automate or augment a task. Some tasks, while easily automatable, may remain due to the nature of the job.

We rely on our expert panel to help describe the jobs that are not at risk of automation and those that are. Our machine learning algorithm is trained to determine the risk of automation. Jobs at low risk of automation are often more likely to be augmented instead.

In some cases, a job will be impacted by both automating and augmenting technologies. This is because a job is made up of different tasks, and each task may be impacted by different technologies at different timeframes. For example, while a task may initially be impacted by augmenting technologies, it may later be automated.
